A Kiddy's Affair - Part 2

Already 11 days into the temp job, hmm, quite used to it liao. Well, it's quite fun looking at the kids playing games & imitating the emcee doing funny kungfu stunts & sounds. The Iron Man is so lame & soft! Looks more like a Cotton Man, haha! Interacting with so many different types of people has helped me improve my communication skills. Especially dealing with difficult parents, who can be very impatient, bo chap or even barbaric. Then had a sad encounter with a little girl queuing up to see the Kungfu Panda show. Chatted with her & suddenly she called me UNCLE! Dotz dao! Guess she purposely tried to tease me, as she looked a bit naughty (Trying to comfort myself..)

But working together with buddies like Aik Leong & Wei Jie (WJ), frequent-chit-chat is possible, haha! So at least not so boring. When I get home, feel so good. Finally get to immerse in my small little world inside the laptop, listening to songs, self-KTV-ing, watching movies while eating snacks! Haha..

With long break time last week, I watched I-Pop Concert on 24-25 May near my work place, outside the Ngee Ann City. Got to know this from JY, who's so lucky to get the tics to watch the concert at the front row. Saw quite a few Mediacorp celebs (e.g. Zoe Tay) & also singers (e.g. Kelly Poon & Cao Ge). Walao, Cao Ge's live performance's voice is so amazing!

Putting the job aside, the FYP pre-allocation is so uncertain. So far, only asked TT & Kunn to consider me for pre-allocation. Hope I can get Kunn, doing my dream project, viz. drug delivery. Anyway, for TT most likely I got no chance, since it's based on overall results. Results gonna be released in 5 days time. God bless!

A Kiddy's Affair - Part 1

Phew, finally I got a temp job, thanks to AL :)

In the Toys Universe toy fair at Takashimaya S.C., my job is to set up the show area for the "Meet & Greet Session" with cartoon/animated movie characters (e.g. Kungfu Panda & Iron Man), usher the kids & parents to the show area & crowd control. It's an entirely new experience for me. Well, now with 3 shows a day, I effectively work only 3 hrs/day, but getting 7 hrs salary. Haha! But with a peak of 5 shows a day & the Great Singapore Sale getting hotter, it's gonna be very busy in the coming week.

Hmm, the job has been quite ok. Just that need to stand for very long. Got to know a lot of new friends & learnt new things, well, the hard work is well worth it. Carrying some rather heavy stuff everyday for 2 weeks gonna help me build up my muscles! Haha..

Then still got FYP to decide on. With a few finalists shortlisted, it's gonna be a stiff competition. Haiz..

By the way, if u happen to go Taka any day from today to 8 Jun (except 26 May), I'll be at Taka level B2 at 1 pm, 4 pm & 7 pm. 请多多支持 wor, haha!

Feeling moody & sad today. I accompanied my Agong coming from Indo to see doctor. Despite suffering from pain in his hand and back, he never stops caring about me. When I was reminded of how hard he worked in the past, tears almost rolled off my eyes. I tried to bury that heavy thought upstream of River South, but only to realise it came back with more pain and sorrow downstream.

My life is like a series of chem rxns. Upon addition of different reagents (inspiration from different people) during the course of rxn, different colour, products & impact are generated. I do hope that my life will conclude beautifully like a 烟火, without any regret.

Haha, it certainly matched what I felt then. Happily enjoying every moment of school life with a group of like-minded bookworms. It was fun doing aerobic exercise early in the sunny Friday morning with a large group of friends & teachers. Even thou there are occasional dark clouds, but most of the time it’s 晴天.

Perplexed

This time I gotta admit 人算不如天算. After a fortnight of intense temp job search, still can't find one. Initially was planning to go back Indo to celebrate Mother's Day after temp job is confirmed. Haiz...

Then looking for a room to stay also proves to be a challenge. With sky-rocketing housing prices, people are demanding expensive rental fees while supplying less facilities. Hope this one can make it.

Price of everything is going up nowdayz. With global worries of tight energy supplies & ever-increasing voracious appetite for energy, oil price continuously breaks records. At the same time, food price also increases, bcoz of higher energy & fertiliser costs, greater global demand, droughts, loss of rice farmland to biofuel plantations & commodities speculators. This is exacerbated by global warming, with high temperature causing more perspiration, making people thirsty at a faster rate. With food & water getting scarce, people become more pek chek & aggressive. Aircon usage will be like never before, again this increases energy consumption & electricity bill like hell. Then people become even more pek chek & this vicious cycle continues.

The high energy price already affects people's lives. Like what happened in my Indo home, according to my mum, blackout occurs virtually every other day. Why does this happen despite Indo has large amount of natural gas reserves in Natuna Islands (viz. part of Riau Islands province) which can be used as clean fuel to generate electricity? Well, fuel price is the culprit again.

Hmm, it's been said that the explosive growth of China & India create tremendous economic opportunities for the rest of the world. This is true. However, it seems that more wealth does not equate to better quality of life. With the average world's standard of living increases with time, there's bound to be higher energy consumption. What do all these all lead to? Guess we all know the answer already.
